Blue/Orange Portraits Part 2

24 01 2012

Jess and Steve profiles

Here’re the other 2 blue/orange profile portraits to go along with the last post. Palette: blue, red, white, minor amounts of orange

Well, RAM is gearing up with those art squares again, and last I heard, Biscottis is going to be putting up some of the squares again. (That’s where my previous 2 sold, and they have excellent salads and cakes!) I have 2 squares prepped but haven’t decided on a good idea yet that’s both family friendly and interesting….

Tonight’s Paint-Sketch

20 01 2012

Quick paint sketches -no black or brown paint. I ran out of brown, and I’m tired or relying on black to darken things. I have all these pics of statues that look kind of modern. Maybe I’ll do a serious painting of one someday.

I also have this set of 3 pics of my friends in profile with blue/red coloring. I think I’ll paint the other two also…

Approaching the South Bank…

16 01 2012

Jacksonville's South Bank

The Strand is to Jacksonville what the Waverly is to Orlando, IMO. I would like to live there.

Here is what I like: painting “straight” lines without rulers. Drawing 1 in college killed me. It was all rulers, all the time. There’s a reason why I didn’t become an architect. Still need to find a good way to get a painting online without blurring/changing the colors/texture.

Lovely Food

14 01 2012

It’s been a pretty rough week – no drawing time so far. SO, I’m going to post some lovely food pics. Food is art too, right?

makin’ the raviolis

I decided to try making ravioli from wonton wrappers (Publix sells them by the tofu products). I shredded carrots, chopped spinach, cooked those in a bit of olive oil and garlic, and added goat cheese. There wasn’t a recipe, but it ended up being pretty tasty.

The finished product. 🙂 The best part is, you cook them just like spaghetti, but it only takes about 4 minutes!

Then I was randomly gifted with a mini-pie maker for Christmas. My friend and I attempted strawberry-blueberry pie for our trial run.

Ta da! Although the last pic is the second try, because the first time we didn’t cut a slit in the top so the filling oozed every where. 😦

Anyway, I have a cupcake shop grand opening to get to…:)

January Nights

because walking down an alley alone is a great idea

More silly fast cartoons. 2 posts in one week! 🙂

Get ya’ self a pie!

I got a mini pie maker for Christmas and drew this. I reckon: this is Pie Boy, who sells pies on the street. He lives on a diet of cigarettes and pies, which is why his limbs are scraggly while his tummy has a pregnant-esque pie poof. Emo-Nylon-magazine-reader girl is bummed because her outfit is hideous. Nothing brings cheer like a pie.

Where can I find an ostrich?

3 01 2012

This was my first 24 hours of the new year: drinking, fireworks, kissing, sleeping, throwing up, more sleeping, yummy diner lunch, shopping, and baking miniature pies. It was the perfect night/day, minus the throwing up part, I suppose. So far my 2012 is nothing like my 2011, which is a very good thing. 🙂

Hey, 2012
